"It is clear that one of the ministries that becomes more strategic and crucial as we approach the final stage of God's work through humanity, is the watchmen ministry. When the disciples asked Jesus what would be the sign of His coming, He answered, 'watch out ...' (Matthew 24:4). To do so, one must be in a position of a watchman. The historical and contemporary examples and testimonies of global ministries of watchmen point out two characteristics to this ministry - the price and sacrifice that are involved in standing in the gap as watchmen, as well as the great reward and results that come with it. Along with this, it gives a sense of a continuation to this important ministry. It is encouraging to see that all along there were committed groups standing before the Lord for His people and His purposes and the way the Lord honored it by showing results that were and are strategic in the Kingdom.
Laboring for the Lord in many different ways and ministries in Israel, I appreciate the emphasis that Tom gives to be a watchman for Israel, including both Jews and Arabs, and for the fulfillment of all God's work through this nation. Although the book can be read leisurely, it will take a lifelong commitment and a personal sacrifice to be able to put it into practice. Tom in his personal example and through this book gives all of us a challenge with regard to our own place as watchmen before the Lord."
